At one point of time, this console became so famous that the demand in the market was more than the other famous consoles like xbox360 and PS3 and according to the latest reports Nintendo Wii is leading the generation over the Xbox360 and Play Station in the worldwide sales. This console stands out from the other consoles since the gameplay is different from the other consoles. The control system is absolutely different from the other consoles. For example, if one has to play tennis, he/she will have to use his/her limbs.

The reason why gaming enthusiasts prefer Wii over the other consoles is because of its size. The Wii measures 1.73 inches in width, 6.18 inches in height and 8.48 inches in length. It is the lightest home gaming console and weighs just 2.7lb. This console can be kept vertically or horizontally. Wii has an internal memory of 512 megabytes which can be extended with the help of an SD card. The SD can also be used for downloading and storing the games and even for uploading photos. The SD card also helps in creating customized music for the game with the stored mp3 files

The unique feature of Nintendo Wii is the wireless controller which is commonly known as the Wii Remote or the Wiimote. The Wii controller is a handheld device which can detect a player’s movement in 3D. This motion sensing ability helps the players to cooperate and control items on the screen through gesture recognition technique and with the help of optical sensors and accelerometers. Another interesting feature is that the controller can be expanded with the help of the attachments like the Wii Nunchuk. The Nunchuk complements the Wiimote by offering several features which are similar to the gamepad controllers.
