Nintendo Wii is an all new experience among modern gaming consoles. Its unique features make it different from all the current gaming consoles available in today’s commercial market. It is special because the controllers of this console can detect human movement through Bluetooth and infrared positioning sensors. For example, if you are playing a tennis game (one of the most popular games played on this console), you need to move your controller according to where the ball is heading toward on the display screen.

Similarly, when you are playing a bowling game, you need to aim towards the pins with your controller. The games are programmed in such a way that it gives you a very realistic/virtual feeling because you need to mimic the movements made in the actual game. If you want to smash a ball you need to use almost as much force as used in the original game. The controllers come with straps which reduces the chances of them slipping away from your hand and causing damages. The Wii remote can also be connected to the expansion devices with the help of the proprietary port which is located at the base of the remote.

Wii’s storage mechanism is very similar to that of a GameCube. Nintendo Wii works on block storage mechanism. The console generally comes with a 512 Mb hard drive and an SD slot for external storage purpose. This SD slot can be very useful for saving the downloaded games or for even saving the pictures. You can even create the background music of a game with the mp3 files stored in the SD slot.

Since the gaming area of Nintendo Wii is generally restricted meaning you will have to play in a confined or a very little space you need to get used to maneuvering your body accordingly. This might take some time but a little patience would prove its worth.

Mostly, all the games come with a static logo which could burn a part of your TV screen. This happens more on plasma TVs. So to reduce such risks, you should switch it to either a LCD or a standard definition TV. Hence, these displays are not that heavily affected by such logos. Since these modern day games include a lot of bright graphics and animations, you should see to it that you do not stress your eyes. Prolonged gaming could affect your eyesight.
